Orexo is founded in Uppsala, Sweden, as a drug delivery company. Development begins based on first-generation drug delivery technology – the sublingual platform

2000

Diabact® UBT, for diagnosing Helicobacter pylori, receives first market approval and is commercialized through a partner

2008

Abstral®, for breakthrough cancer pain, launches in its first market via partnership

2009

Edluar®, for insomnia, achieves first market approval and is commercialized through partnership

2013

Zubsolv®, the third product based on the sublingual platform, is approved by the FDA for the treatment of opioid addiction. Orexo establishes a US subsidiary for commercialization

2016

Zubsolv in the US surpasses SEK 1 billion in gross sales

2017

Research into an overdose rescue medication started, leading to the development of next-generation drug delivery technology - AmorphOX®

2021

Pipeline expands with three clinical-phase programs and several preclinical projects all leveraging AmorphOX technology

2024

Clinical expansion in the development of a powder-based nasal anaphylaxis product. In parallel, Orexo expands research in peptides and vaccines.

2025

Orexo divests all rights to Zubsolv in the US, unlocking resources to accelerate development programs
